A Hopeful Look Ahead on Inauguration Day

Today, as we anticipate Donald Trump’s return to the White House, there’s an undeniable buzz of excitement in the air.

This inauguration promises to be a true celebration, marking not just the beginning of a new term, but a hopeful new era in American politics.

Comparing Trump’s 2025 inauguration to his first in 2017? We can expect some notable differences…

While the 2017 event was marked by protests, the “resistance” that once dominated headlines has simmered down.

Altogether, the 2025 celebration is shaping up to be a more unified affair, replaced by – dare we say? – a sense of optimism and renewed energy.

  • This time around, for instance, Country superstar Carrie Underwood is set to take the stage. It's a far cry from the struggle to secure A-list talent in 2017, showcasing the shift in Hollywood’s willingness to support the Trump administration openly.
  • Corporate America is also embracing the festivities. Coca-Cola has unveiled a special inauguration marketing campaign, complete with limited-edition bottles featuring the presidential seal. It’s a, yes, refreshing change from the cowardly approach many companies took during Trump’s first term.

Perhaps the most exciting aspect of this inauguration is what it represents: The end of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS)!

I think Trump winning the popular vote – within 12 hours of the polls closing – tamped down some of the TDS.

After four years of Biden’s presidency, the hysteria and hyperbole that once dominated political discourse has given way to a more measured tone.

This shift extends beyond politics, potentially signaling the end of cancel culture as we know it. With Trump’s return to office, there’s a sense that the era of social media mobs and career-ending tweets may finally be behind us.

As we look forward to the parade down Pennsylvania Avenue, the oath of office administered and the glittering inaugural balls, it’s clear that this isn’t just another changing of the guard.

It’s a celebration of the American spirit. And a chance to unite under a shared vision for the future.
