Trump’s Huge Border Win

Few issues loomed larger in the 2024 presidential race than the U.S.-Mexico border crisis.

For millions of voters, the surge in illegal crossings and the images of overwhelmed border agents became one of the defining stories of the Biden years.

By the time Americans went to the polls in November, frustration had reached critical mass — so much so that many point to the border crisis as the deciding factor in Donald Trump’s dramatic return to the White House.

So, let’s dig into the latest stats today: June 2025 saw just 6,070 Border Patrol encounters along the southern border.

To put that in perspective, there were days during the previous administration when more migrants crossed in a single 24-hour period than in the entire month of June 2025.

On some days under Biden? The daily total exceeded 12,000. Now, the entire month barely cracked 6,000.

  • June 2025: 6,070 encounters for the whole month
  • June 2024: 87,606 encounters — over 1,344% higher!

The numbers don’t lie: illegal border crossings have plummeted. In fact, June 2025’s total is the lowest monthly figure since the 1960s.

The “Trump Effect”

Another headline-grabber: none of the 6,070 migrants encountered in June 2025 were released into the U.S.

That’s a sea change from previous administrations when thousands of migrants were routinely released each month, often with little oversight.

But Trump’s administration wasted no time after inauguration…

Thousands of troops were sent to the border, asylum access was sharply restricted and deportations ramped up. The so-called “catch and release” policy is now a thing of the past.

Border officials are calling it the “Trump Effect.”

Aggressive enforcement, combined with new agreements with Mexico and Central American countries, has led to a massive deterrent effect.

Migrants and smugglers are thinking twice before making the journey, knowing the odds of crossing the border illegally — and being allowed to stay — are now close to zero.

Love him or hate him, President Trump’s second term has delivered a border turnaround in 2025 that’s impossible to ignore.

The statistics speak for themselves. Crossings are down dramatically, permission to enter the country after crossing illegally has stopped and the border is tighter than it’s been in decades.

For many Americans, especially those who felt ignored by previous administrations, these changes represent the long-awaited fulfillment of promises to secure the southern border.

Thus, the border crisis is more than just a policy debate — it’s become a symbol of national priorities, government competence and the rule of law.

As for Trump’s campaign promise to restore order at the border: Mission accomplished.
