President J.D. Vance
Weeks ago, Paradigm’s political and macroeconomics authority Jim Rickards said: “The entire presidential election comes down to Pennsylvania.”
According to acclaimed election forecaster Nate Silver today, Trump and Harris are locked in a dead heat…
And that’s just one of Jim’s compelling insights into the election landscape of 2024. Today? Jim Rickards paints a vivid picture of electoral chaos, in what might be his most audacious prediction yet.
First, Jim lays some groundwork: “The U.S. presidential election will not be over on Election Day…

Electoral Chaos Looms in 2025
“Physical counting of mail-in and drop box ballots in places like Philadelphia and Maricopa County, Arizona will drag on into November 6-7,” Jim says.
“Armies of lawyers are standing by on both sides ready to ask for court intervention.
“Republicans will claim that signatures on mail-in ballot envelopes do not match the ballots,” says Jim, or “that hand-completed ballots are being run through the scanning machines multiple times.
“Democrats will claim that voters were purged from the voting registration rolls wrongfully [which] will impede the ability of the Secretaries of State to certify results.
“Importantly, the election will not be over on January 6, 2025,” he adds, “when the Congress counts the electoral votes of the states.”
- Jim forecasts a scenario, happening sometime between January 3-5, 2025, wherein Democrats pass a resolution to declare Trump an “insurrectionist” under the 14th Amendment — which could lead to the disqualification of Trump’s electoral votes.
No, this scenario isn’t as implausible as you might think. In fact, someone on the opposite end of the political spectrum from Jim Rickards forecasted a similar scheme earlier this year.
When U.S. Representative Jamie Raskin (MD-D) was asked in February about his expectations for the presidential election of 2024, he blasted the Supreme Court for failing to disqualify Trump under section 3 of the 14th Amendment.
Then Raskin made the following breathtaking statement: “It's going to be up to [Congress] on January 6, 2025 to tell the rampaging Trump mobs that he's disqualified.”
But we’re not certain Raskin thought this scenario through to its logical conclusion…
Such an action could trigger the invocation of the 12th Amendment, according to Jim, allowing the House of Representatives to choose the president.
Jim suggests Republicans could respond by vacating the House to prevent a quorum, resulting in the newly-elected vice president becoming the acting president under the 12th Amendment.
“So,” he says, “get ready for President Vance on January 7, 2025.”
Alternatively? “Democrats may not retake the House in which case the threat of disqualification on insurrectionist grounds is reduced.”
But as both parties prepare for intense confrontations over ballot legitimacy and candidate qualifications, the potential for dramatic outcomes looms large.
With so many variables at play, this election season could be one for the history books.
